Desert Music
When we started recording I realized we needed a title for the album and Desert Music
instantly came to mind. I wrote the lyrics in the vocal booth and between takes of other
songs badgered Matt and Jeff (via headphones) to play something new for me. Berkley helped us
hammer out a bridge and thus, the story of my life became a song.
Good To Be
It was the summer of 1998 in Cleveland and I was in a funk on a Sunday, feeling sorry
for myself and lazily reflecting on my life while laying on the couch in the heat of the
late afternoon. Even at the worst of times it's still good to be.
Rescue Me
When the chips are down you gotta keep hoping.... that is the gist of this song,
written several years ago during one of my "what the hell am I doing with my life" phases.
In the studio we decided a spoken word passage would be perfect for this song, and
who more perfect than Miss Lizzie Wann to write and perform it!
